US President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris had already been banned from entering the country.
Former First Lady, Secretary of State and 2016 presidential candidate Hilary Clinton has likewise now been barred from Russia, along with current US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Three former Senators – John McCain, Harry Reid and Orrin Hatch – were also included on the list, despite all having died in 2018, 2021 and April 23 this year respectively.
Other senior US politicians included on the list are transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg and defence secretary Lloyd Austin, House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, writes Mirror.
Senators Amy Klobuchar, Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham were also barred, alongside Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor-Greene, along with a number of others.
Representative Rosa DeLauro, also included on the list, said she was “honoured” to have been banned from Russia. Absent from the list, however, is former president Donald Trump.
Mark Zuckerberg is also included on the list of 963 Americans permanently banned from Russia
